Project Description

NOT ALL OF THEM ARE CRIMINAL

The Injustice suffered by the Awaiting Trial Inmates. More than 70% of the inmates in Nigerian Prison are awaiting trial which is very sad. Many of them have their cases adjourned indefinitely. This means that unless there is an external intervention like this project, they may remain there until their demise. A good number of them have also lost communication with family members or friends. Some of these inmates have been in prison for as long as five years without trial or conviction, for an offence that is actually punishable upon conviction for a period lesser than that. Some inmates have been in prison for a number of years due to the inability to perfect bail for a petty sum.
